Lamb Steak With Mushroom Black Pepper Sauce

Sometimes when I had lamb for either lunch or dinner, I had big problems sleeping at night. My body temperature would easily jump to an extraordinary level and I just felt like opening all the I windows at home.. I could have had too much of the meat I guess, otherwise such drama wouldn’t happen  :D

Anyway, it won’t stop me from liking this delicious lamb steak ever. I like it so much this way with mushroom black pepper sauce ;)

Lamb Steak Recipe

  • lamb & seasoning:
  • 400 gm lamb fillet (you can use rack of lamb too)
  • salt, blackpepper, whitepepper
  • for lamb steak
  • olive oil
  • vegetables: 3/4 can sliced mushroom, carrots, capsicum, onion, tomatoes
  • for black pepper sauce
  • 1/4 can sliced mushroom
  • 2 crushed garlic
  • 1 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon blackpepper sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mustard sauce
  • a bit of corn flour if necessary
  1. Heat oven 200 ° C.
  2. Season lamb racks with peppers and salt.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil. Sear the lamb fillet both sides for about 5 min each side.
  4. Remove the lamb to ovenproof container and put in oven for about 30 mins.
  5. In the same pan (with leftover oil), fry 3/4 can mushroom, carrot and onion for about 5 minutes.
  6. In the same pan, add a little more olive oil.
  7. Fry the garlic until fragrant.  Add 1/4 can mushrooms and continue stirring. Add chicken stock and bring to boil.
  8. Add blackpepper & mustard sauces. Cook until the sauce become thick. If necessary, add a teaspoon of corn flour to thicken the sauce.
  9. Add some salt if necessary.

Wow, I need to come here more often! I’ve never had lamb, but this looks so tasty and doesn’t sound too fussy to make. I love your presentation! Hopefully you are able to enjoy lamb more peacefully in the future ;) .
